Windows Live Messenger 9.0 beta

I have just got some news that Microsoft has already started working on a new version of Windows Live Messenger, version 8.5 has just come out a week or two ago and they are already working on the new version 9.0 , Looks like Microsoft finally might be going somewhere with this Windows Live Thing. Some people have already gotten invites for the Windows Live Messenger v 9.0 Beta it seems that the ones who participated in the v 8 and v 8.5 are being invites to the v 9.0 beta too , I was one of the Beta v 8 and 8.5 testers too but haven’t got an invite yet hope will get soon. While here are some of the new features in Windows Live Messenger v 9.0 Beta :

  • Multiple Points Of Presence support (MPOP) – Now you can sign into Messenger v9 from several different locations and remain signed in, In v8.5 and under, signing in at a new pc will sign you out anywhere else.

  • Signature sounds

  • Per contact sounds – chose a sound to associate with each of your contacts’ actions

  • Animated Display Pictures – now you can use animated .gif files as your display picture

  • URLS in Status Message – these are now clickable

  • SPIM reporting – report and block users who spam you via IM.
