The Beatings , Media Freedom & The New Government

Pakistan’s new government led by the Pakistan Peoples Party took two TV news channels off the air.ARY One World TV and GEO TV were taken off air after showing footage of the beating of former chief minister Arbab Ghulam Rahim by Pakistan Peoples Party workers in the provincial legislature assembly while Pakistan Muslim League-Q President Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain has said that former Sindh Chief Minister Dr. Arbab Ghulam Rahim was subjected to state violence and he would not demand judicial inquiry into the matter and that was on Saturday.

While the recent Drama happened yesterday on Wednesday when former Parliamentary Affairs Minister Sher Afghan Niazi was beaten and tortured by a gang of Lawyers and people which are said to be sent by the new Government as Police was there and they didn’t help stop the violence and then the star of this Public Drama Aitzaz Ahsan Arrived asking Lawyers to let the Sher Afgahn Niazi go through but they still didn’t listen and at the end Aitzaz Ahsan announced his resignation as as the head of a lawyers’ association, it is very unlikely that this new coalition government will even last 90 days.
