Eid ul Adha Mubarak !
->
I think 4 days have passed Eid which was on 9th December and lasted 3 days so from 9th December to 11th December. It came quickly but seems to be passing away slowly which is a good sign well for me at least because normally the good times roll away pretty fast but i think this time God is with me not a lot of mishaps this time either like on Eid-ul-Fitr.
It started out pretty boring and slow , as it rained the day before Eid and it was wet cold and every Pakistani will know Rain is a blessing but when it rains the transport system is a mess as the roads disappear under a coat of mud and water.For people who don’t know about Eid ul Adha here is a little something from Wikipedia.
Eid al-Adha (Arabic: ??? ??????? ‘?du l-’A???) "Festival of Sacrifice" is a religious festival celebrated by Muslims worldwide to commemorate the willingness of Ibrahim to sacrifice his son Ishmael as an act of obedience to God. However, God provided a ram in place once Ibrahim demonstrated his willingness to follow God’s commands.
Eid al-Adha annually falls on the 10th day of the month of Dhul Hijja (?? ?????) of the lunar Islamic calendar. The festivities last for three days or more . Eid al-Adha occurs the day after the pilgrims conducting Hajj, the annual pilgrimage to Mecca in Saudi Arabia by Muslims worldwide,
Muslims sacrifice their best domestic animals (usually sheep, but also camels, cows and goats) as a symbol of Ibrahim’s sacrifice. They have to meet certain age and quality standards or else the animal is considered an unacceptable sacrifice.
We got a goat a day before Eid but was not too easy to find one with normal price , the lowest of the lowest started from PKR 8,000 which is like USD$100 and went up as much as PKR 250,000 or 3200USD$ but we managed to find one for PKR 5000 which is like 64USD$ guess we were in Luck.
On the day of Eid after EID Prayers me and my father setout to sacrifice the animal i have never done it myself but i have been helping him for a few years ! We always do it ourselves really makes it special.After that it wasn’t so much exciting to be honest as there was not the usual family crowd , i was expecting a cousin to return from Spain for Eid but sadly he couldn’t make but I bet you if he had it would have been a blast !
Well the second day was somewhat better went out had fun with friends , went out to eat and surprisingly no mishaps either as they always do on special occasions so that was big relief as nothing went wrong everything went as planned !I cant even remember everything may be its right that you don’t remember the good times its the tough times that stay with you !
